There's nothing quite like the warmth of a Finnish sauna after a day exploring the Mauricie forest. Our indoor sauna is built with traditional wood and features a high-end Harvia heater for the perfect löyly (steam).

“Magical - one of the best Airbnb experiences. Beautiful home, comfortable beds and couch, well equipped kitchen, super clean, deep silence, and welcoming and helpful hosts who went above and beyond. Before your stay, I recommend ordering some eucalyptus or oak sauna whisks, for a full Baltic sauna experience. Also recommended bringing warm robes and big fleece blankets for sitting in the snow by the fire between sauna sessions. The boucherie artisanale chez francoeur nearby had a wonderful beef and smoked salmon -- it was a pleasure to slow down and take joy in preparing food together in a kitchen that made cooking effortless. We can't wait to return to the chalet.”

“Maud's chalet is a beautiful gem in the woods and overlooking the lake. Maud and Jean-Francois were very helpful and answered all our questions both before and during our stay. Their chalet was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, providing everything one might need for a relaxing stay. It is extremely quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed many wonderful swims in the lake. The village is an easy 10 minute drive away with many options for hiking in the area. Whether you're down at the lake on the dock, relaxing in the Adirondack chairs on the spacious deck, or inside sharing a meal, the views are spectacular in every direction. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wish we could have stayed longer!!”

The whole place is beautifully arranged and has all needed amenities. Within an hour drive several nice hiking areas can be reached. Everything starts with a solid foundation. The concrete footing was poured directly in the forest, between the birch and pine trees that would become the chalet's permanent backdrop.
The Honka solid-wood structure takes shape. Each horizontal log locks into the next using traditional Finnish joinery — no glue, no compromise. The campfire kept spirits warm during long days on site.

With the frame standing strong, the walls begin to rise log by log. The structure starts to reveal its final form — space, volume, and the warmth of Finnish timber becoming a home.
The charcoal-grey exterior cladding goes on, giving the chalet its signature modern look — dark and understated against the forest, letting nature take centre stage through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The private dock extends out onto the lake — a favourite spot for morning coffee, afternoon swims, and golden-hour reflections. Two orange kayaks wait at the ready for anyone who wants to explore further.
